6.22.2012

This year has been so busy that today we are daydreaming up our idea of a perfect weekend... Cozy coral pink sweaters with reading glasses for lots of good books curled up on a fabulous mustard damask sofa. Indulging in homemade buttery lemon cakes and sipping on crisp cocktails at the park on a chevron picnic blankets.

The canvas colors of corals, soft pinks and shades of yellow are the perfect glorious summer shades. They evoke feelings of pineapples, happy carnations, and sophistication. Mixed together they feel like Summer popsicles.

ebb + flow

5.31.2012

Ebb and flow is a term used to describe the movement of water, often in relation to natural tides. It is commonly used metaphorically. We couldn’t HELP but think that the Holten Rower pour painting below reminded us of that very beautiful movement of water itself… What a lovely inspiration for home decor, an event, your wardrobe?? The lines of an “ebb & flow” inspired look are such a soothing way for a collage of colors to come together.

marble madness

5.15.2012

We are Mad for Marble…  What is Marble? Geologists use the term “marble” to refer to metamorphosed limestone. The word “marble” is derived from various Greek words that mean “crystalline rock”, “shining stone”, and Greek verbs that mean “to flash, sparkle, gleam”. Sparkle? Gleam? What a fabulous natural element to be inspired by. Here are some of our favorite ways to incorporate marble into your home decor or upcoming event.

There are so many ways you could incorporate the florentine marbled paper into your home. Line your drawers, use as stationery, or make into seating cards for a dinner party. The marble print scarf can be worn around your neck or used as the fabric to cover chairs, pillows or other home decorative objects, and the marbleized pillow would look fabulous just about anywhere.

The marble madness doesn’t stop at your home.. What about incorporating into your wedding with marbleized wedding invitations or marbled cake slices?

or into bridesmaid dresses and instead of the inside of your cake, how about the outside?
